EXPERIENCE

Oracle | Creative Director, Copy | 7/19 – Present

Creative director, copywriter, and operations leader for Oracle’s brand marketing and paid media teams. Manage copywriters, mentor designers, and work closely with other CDs and program managers to build campaigns, brand identities and style guides, and events creative.

  • Previously Senior Strategic Writer (Jul 2019 – May 2020) and Principal Strategic Writer (May 2020 – Feb 2021).

  • Manage team of copywriters who concept and write content for global marketing campaigns, print ads, social media, brand guidelines, events, and video and web platforms.

  • Lead copy reviews on a weekly basis to provide feedback and prepare the team for executive presentations.

  • Collaborate with design, marketing, and brand leadership teams to ensure brand voice alignment of content across assets.

  • Lead brand voice development and education for Redwood, Oracle’s first brand design system.

  • Deliver campaign messaging kits and training to demonstrate how to communicate in Oracle’s brand voice.

  • Lead brand reviews and approvals for Oracle’s global product, service, program, and events naming program.

Rational Interaction | Senior Copywriter | 12/17 – 1/19

Creative and content lead on the agency’s Microsoft work, especially Global Engagement Program publications and interactive experiences. Senior copywriter on brand development projects for Amazon AWS Training and Certification, which included an in-depth brand book and multiple naming projects. Stretch ACD on Microsoft and Amazon accounts.

Amazon | Senior Copywriter (Contract) | 07/17 – 12/17

Brand strategy and mass advertising copywriter for D1 Creative, Amazon’s internal creative agency. Focusing on brand books, ad campaigns, content strategy and copywriting for Amazon business partners. Highlights include an O Magazine ad spread to promote Oprah’s Favorite Things at Amazon.com and a brand refresh for the Consumer Electronics category.

PBJS (Publicis Experiences) | Creative Director | 09/12 – 04/17

Creative leader, content and brand strategist, and UX and marketing copywriter for digital and live event projects for this experiential marketing agency. Brand director and editor for the PBJS blog and agency social media channels, for which I managed a small team. Highlights include:

  • Digital marketing campaigns, content and brand strategy, copywriting, and website builds for CARE.org and SightLifeSurgical.com (now CorneaGen.com)

Nordstrom | Site Editor | 9/06 – 10/11

Writer and editor for Nordstrom’s online and in-store marketing initiatives, campaigns, and branded editorial content and creative strategy. Social media authority and resource.

Editorial Content Team (2010-2011): Supported overall marketing initiatives and merchandising goals via branded editorial content for an online magazine on Nordstrom.com, The Conversation, as well as other digital and print marketing. Contributing editor for Nordstrom's blog, The Thread.

Site Editorial Team (2006-2010): Writer and editor of creative content for Nordstrom’s online and storewide marketing campaigns, specializing in branded editorial content. Collaborated with creative teams and leadership to develop and present proposals and projects to internal business owners. Developed the brand voice, as well as the strategic messaging direction for the 2010 Nordstrom Weddings rebrand and in-store Wedding Suites.

Social Media Lead (2009-2011): Pioneered and managed Nordstrom’s social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other social channels. Increased followers and visibility exponentially week over week while improving click-through and conversion rates. Trained other teams in social media management and marketing basics.
